JFK Airport Location
John F. Kennedy International Airport (IATA: JFK) is one of five airports serving the New York/New Jersey area with domestic, international and intercontinental flights. During 2023, it was transited by 62.4 million passengers. It is located in the Jamaica neighborhood of the borough of Queens, 26 km (16 miles) southeast of Midtown Manhattan. (SEE MAP).
Terminals

Services:
The airport has restaurants, takeaways, cafes and bars, as well as a wide variety of shops, including duty-free items, clothing and fashion, cosmetics, electronics, cell phones, alcoholic beverages, sweets, etc. There are some 24-hour options in Terminal 1 (boarding area) and Terminal 4 (public area). In addition, passengers can find convenience stores with regional products, books and newspapers. It also offers several services, such as ATMs, free Wi-Fi access, charging stations for electronic devices, currency exchange, luggage storage, protective plastic luggage sealing, infirmary, beauty & spa salons, VIP lounges, luggage carts, assistance for animals and pets, and a hotel next to Terminal 5.
Public and private transportation
AirTrain
The 24-hour AirTrain JFK is the fastest and easiest way to get around the airport. The system connects all passenger terminals to parking garages, the hotel shuttle pick-up area, the rental car center and the New York City public transportation network at Jamaica and Howard Beach stations, where you can connect to the subway, Long Island Rail Road and public buses. NYC Subway System
The AirTrain connects all passenger terminals with the New York subway system at Jamaica and Howard Beach stations. At Jamaica, you can take the E, J or Z lines, and at Howard Beach, the A line. All subway fares are independent of the AirTrain, but can be paid with any MetroCard. The fare is USD2.90. Learn more
Long Island Rail Road
This commuter train connects Jamaica Station to Penn and Grand Central stations, in Midtown Manhattan, and Atlantic Terminal, in downtown Brooklyn, as well as all destinations on Long Island. Fares and schedules vary by time and day. Travel time can be significantly shorter than using the subway. Learn more
Bus services
There are several bus services operated by MTA to South Jamaica, East New York, Kew Gardens / Ozone Park, as well as shuttle buses connecting JFK Airport to Newark and LaGuardia airports. Learn more
Cab services
New York's official yellow cab services have their ranks outside each terminal for safe and legitimate transportation. The flat Manhattan fare is USD70.00 (not including tolls or tips). Lyft is available in the Cell Phone Lot parking sectors and the Uber pick-up area is located outside the Arrivals Halls of Terminals 1 and 4, and in the baggage claim area and boarding level of Terminal 5.
